Zerogame v0.52 Beta 4+ Released!

xnonsuchx has picked up the mantle and has been working on updating Zerogame further and from the looks of it, has done a very impressive job. Awesome stuff!
You can find the updated version here along with the changelog here: http://thezerogameproject.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=165#p1431
There's a chance I will be able to come back to work on Zerogame myself at some point... but I can't make any promises unfortunately.
Keep up the great work, xnonsuchx!

From Failing Hands We Pass The Torch

Due to a change at work that I cannot talk about due to an NDA, I can no longer work on Zerogame, unfortunately.
I wasn't asked by my bosses to stop working on it (and I did tell them about it). I wasn't asked by Sony or anyone else to stop working on it, so don't demonize anyone over this.
I hope you understand I have to think of my family first. Sometimes, it's not just important to not be doing anything wrong.. it can be just as important to not look like you COULD be doing anything wrong.

New Installer Sneak Peak, Finding Out What's Going On Behind The Scenes

Question of the Day: What button presses should Zerogame use to quit an emulator?

Hi everyone...

I've run into a little bit of an issue with Zerogame and I wanted to know what the community thinks would be best.

At the moment, we've been using the Playstation button as our universal "quit this now" button. However, there is a problem. There's no way I can send XMAME a fake keyboard command through Gizmod since it refuses to recognize multiple keyboards at a base level. That means that if we want to have a standardized quit function across all emulators, we're going to have to choose something else.

PS3 Firmware Update v3.21 Proxy Workaround No Longer Works

Sony has today found a way around the proxy method for logging into PSN from firmware 3.15... meaning anyone that wants to use Zerogame is now fucked and will have to stay off PSN.

Awesome. Just awesome. Sony, you are removing more and more from the PS3 and turning decent people into hackers. Keep it up... they will only tear your walls down.

Updated v0.52 Changelist, WebSVN change

When one of my real life friends asked me what I was going to do with Zerogame now that Sony's trying to kill off Linux, I laughed. Far from being being its death knell, I would say the project is more alive today than ever before!

Here are more changes for v0.52... it's looking really good right now.

Summary - Website Changes Over the Past 24 Hours

Okay, here's a list of everything that's changed in the last 24 hours or so here on the website.

  • Replaced old forums with phpBB integrated into Drupal

This already is so much nicer than the old forum software. No more stupid random limitations... good forum software almost everyone's used before... no need to create a new separate account as login on the site works across both. All in all, good stuff.

Workin'... Workin'.... Website Updates

I don't know about you guys, but I personally find that our forum just felt... so limited. Why bother with constraints and problems when we've got stuff like phpBB around? I've integrated phpBB into the site to replace our current forums... and already, I feel so much more free and liberated.

Use it as you always have. Just three rules:

1) Don't be a moron.
2) Don't post links to ROMs.
3) Don't be a moron.

Some Guys Just Like The Added Support - New Bug Ticketing System

It seems like no one wanted to bother with using Bugzilla for sending me their bugs for one reason or another. Maybe it was just too hardcore for our users... so I've instead gone with a new on-site ticketing system: http://thezerogameproject.com/support/zerogame/

Please, if you run into a potential bug, have a feature request, or a keyboard code you want added, use the new ticketing system which can be found under "Bugs" in the top navigational bar.

Excuse My Dust - Website Work In Progress

Hi everyone. Just wanted to let you know that I'm going to be making some changes to the website here so that things are more robust and make more sense... and make it feel a bit more like a proper project website.

This will mean nothing but good things in the end... users will have an easier time getting around the site and finding things they need, better forums and other stuff.

For the moment, SVN for the project is down as I am currently in the process of moving it. I will update this post when it is back up with the new URL.
